Universities Challenged

Criteria announced for 20 "new" Universities:

A quick browse through the HEFCE website revealed a consultation call for the new Universities announced earlier in the spring (A new 'University Challenge'). The initial 4 significant criteria are thus;

• collaboration between HEIs and between HEIs and FECs ( a potential model can be found here)

• strong, coherent support from local partners

• long-term and sustainable planning ( take a look at the HEFCE video on sustainability in HE)

• management capacity.

Responses are sought by Oct 17^th online
